Hello,
There are many applications that will do this. A few
will actually maintain continuity between them using
IMAP protocol.
IMAP (in lieu of POP3) will maintain the mail on the
server, and download headers into a mailbox on
whatever client you use. Then, no matter where you
check your mail from, you always have the same mail.
I use a combination of things for my small family LAN.
I use a Linux server with 6.4, and the clients use
Win2000 and Win98 (6 total).
On my Server, I use the Roxen Web Server, and the IMHO
Web Mail Client. The Roxen is a gui configured,
full-featured server. The IMHO is a plugin to it with
preformated HTML.
When the users check their email from Outlook, it goes
to the server, and opends the IMAP session. Then, if
they check it from the internet via the web site, they
see the same mail as they did on Outlook via IMHO -
the two are synchronized.
Anyway, that's my solution, works for me, but not for
everyone. BTW - if you want to see IMHO, just go to
the web site http://www.lysator.liu.se/~stewa/IMHO/
And, both IMHO and Roxen are on most SuSE distros.

I am currently running a SuSE6.4 Linux Internet server which is mostly accessed from a couple of M$ machines (I know but I need M$ for work). I am currently using Outlook Excess and/or Eudora for accessing e-mail from my server.
However, I am thinking it would be nice to have a capable web access mail facility for my Linux box which can be accessed from my M$ boxes and indeed the server itself, has a nice user interface with folders, filtering and possibly personalities available a la Eudora. Is there any freeware or cheap commercial software to provide this facility ?
Cheers,
Sean Akers.
