Hi, It's me again. Here are the details to my problem: Problem: Installation of a driver for my PC-Tel Winmodem. Details: 1. At first, I tried to install the precompiled module with "insmod" ("modprobe" doesn't seem to work, it tells me that it can't locate the module) and it told me that there was a kernel version mismatch. I tried again with the -f option to try to force an install. It gave me an error message about not being able to recognize some symbols. 2. Then, I compiled the source and tried again. After compilation, I noticed that the size of my newly compiled module was quite a bit less than the size of the precompiled one. Despite that fact, I tried again with insmod and it was successful. But, nonetheless, my modem still does not respond. Can someoe please tell me what I am doing wrong?
