hi all
i've read that there's a security problem with kernel b4 2.2.16- i'm using suse 6.4 with kernel 2.2.14.
That is correct.
my ques is if i recompile my kernel to 2.2.16, do i have to reinstall all the other programs e.g. perl, etc & reconfigure everything-eg. my apache server, inetd.conf??
No, all you need to do is upgrade your kernel.
btw, where do i get kernel 2.2.16?
You can download the regular kernel source from ftp://ftp.kernel.org or you can get the SuSE rpms from the SuSE ftp site. Victor -- "Let's get it straight: copyright infringement is not piracy.
