I recently upgraded to SuSE 6.4 Kernel 2.2.16 and installed the SuSE kernel source but noticed there is a discrepancy in the ReiserFS utils and the SuSE kernel versions. The utils are at 3.5.18 and the kernel version is at 3.5.22. Furthermore, there doesn't appear to be any ReiserFS updates on the ftp site (unless I'm looking in the wrong place) and the fs/reiserfs/utils directory is missing from the SuSE source so I cannot compile the utilities myself. I guess that begs the obvious question, "Why????" Shouldn't the ReiserFS utilities version match the kernel source? I feel a bit leery running reiserfsck compiled with an older kernel. Here's what I'd like to do: Download the latest ReiserFS kernel patch and apply it to the SuSE kernel source. Can I do that or do I need to apply it to the generic kernel source? If I have to use the generic source, where can I find the rest of the SuSE patches to bring everything up to date? -- John Ross Hunt bigboote@mediaone.net mailto:bigboote@mediaone.net -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
