I am running a SUSE 6.4 internet server with my cable modem. Everything is working fine and dandy except for one thing. When I am playing Halflife TFC on my M$ machine and my cron job entry to use fetchmail to download my pop3 mail from the ISP executes, I get timeout errors and I lose my TFC connection. Is there any way to give masquerading a higher priority over fetchmail so that I don't lose my connection. I find I have to temporarily disable my mail cron jobs for the duration of the game and re-enable them again afterwards which is a pain. I am running fetchmail as follows: /usr/bin/nice /usr/bin/fetchmail -v -a 2>&1 >> /var/log/fetchmail I like to have logging turned on as the two mail servers I connect to can be a bit crap occasionally. Would I be better running fetchmail as a daemon ? Any help much appreciated.
