Hi all, While this is not strictly a SuSE question, I wonder if anyone has come across this problem. I have a Maxtor 4.3GB HDD in my linux server with the O.S. installed on it. I have three partitions: 25Mb mounted as /boot at the start of the drive 130Mb swap drive The rest mounted as / I am trying to install a 6.4GB drive in place of the 4.3GB but am hitting a wall when I partition it. I create all the partitions as on the 4.3GB above, write the partitions to the disk, and reboot. When I reboot there are no partitions!! 4.3GB is /dev/hda 6.4GB is /dev/hdb CD is /dev/hdc Geometry of 6.4GB drive is 15/63/13328 (Auto detected) 4.3Gb is 255/63/525 Could this be a problem with LBA translation (or lack of it maybe) I am reluctant to mess with drive geometry settings The mobo is a Intel dual PII 450 server board N440BX Has anyone had this problem and can tell me a way to solve it.........
