Thanks for the data-point. It's great to know that open-source truly is *open*. As I said above, I'm planning on buying at least one new shrink-wrapped release a year. ---Once I've figured out the Linux package-adding utility, I may download a new utility --binary or source--to keep current. But for new versions of kernel plus drivers, it's hard to beat $50US. gary
