Hi JW, Maybe we didn't understand the question, at least I didn't. I use Samba, and there are no entries in fstab for shares. All the share configurations are done in /etc/smb.conf. Are you trying to mount a samba share at boot time? If so, there is a function available for linux called smbfs, whare the mount command example is:
mount -ufs \\NTSERVER\MOUNT_DIR /sun_mount_point
But, you better read the docs, because it may not be
what you want to do.
http://us4.samba.org/samba/smbfs/
Good luck

Howdy,
Sorry to be repetitive, but I never found an answer to my last samba problem:
What does a line for a samba share in /etc/fstab look like?
The man pages do _not_ answer this question.
So, could anyone show me an example line?
Thanks, JW
