It happened. I finaly squeezed sound out of my Linux box. I used the emu10k1 driver that came with SuSE 6.3. I have the routine on how to get the card to work down pretty good. All I have to do boot the machine. Then I have to move the soundcore.o file out of /misc temporaily. Otherwise I get a modprobe error that soundcore.o already exists So I have to move it out of /misc and Then depmod -a but dont't modprobe to soon cause if you do it will now say that it can't find soundcore.o So then I have to place the soundcore.o back into its /misc Then modprobe loads the soundcore. That shouldnt be to hard every time I want to use sound. Creative needs to work on their Linux support a little better. It would have been alot easier (like 10 times easier) if my card simply came with Linux drivers in the box and a short and sweet How-To __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
