Hi all,
I am beautifully running SuSE 6.3 on my box with a "Trident" graphic card, with an XFree86 3.3.5 server.
But I just bought a new "Silicon Motion" graphic card so I will have to update to the XFree86 3.3.6 for my card to work in my system since this card is not supported in the 3.3.5 version.
Questions are: Is it as easy as download the 3.3.6 rpm from the ftp SuSE site, install it and then tune it with "sax" or "XF86Setup"?? Does it require any further configuration?
Well, it is, BUT if you upgrade to SuSE 6.4 you will have much better control. With the new YaST2 on 6.4 you can even configure your monitor with windoze _inf_ files, if it is not recognized on first shot.
Thank you for your time.
You are welcome!! =:`)
Cheers.
