I just confirmed there is a bug in the dhclient-script file. The one included with 6.4, as well as the updated rpm package, caused my dhclient to reset my hostname when it renewed the lease. As a result, after 5 minutes, I had to logout to open a new program as I had just become a foreign entity in my own machine. It would set my hostname to the first readable directory entry in the / directory, which was bin. I replaced this file with the one from the isc version and everything is working fine now. There are 3 lines that would need to be deleted to make the files the same, or just get the script file for linux from isc. The lines are: if [ -x /usr/bin/nslookup ] ; then hostname 'nslookup $new_ip_address | grep Name | cut -d ":" -f 2' ; fi Hope this helps. -- Joe & Sesil Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://home.beseen.com/churches/joe_morris -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
