Hi All, I have 2 Linux boxes on my lan ....I'd like to avoid giving anyone the root access to either box ... On the SuSe box, with wvdial.dod ( thanks Arjen ) , and killpppd (Thanks Sean ) its not necessary for anyone to logon as root to the system... But every night, when the machine has to be halted , someone has to use superuser access to bring down the machine ........ on my Redhat box, even a normal user can ( by default ) shutdown the system after entering his/her password ........when the 'Power button is accessible to all , this perhaps makes sense too.. Is there a way of doing this on a suse box too ?
