Hi, ** My guess is what frightens people off is that when ** Windows messes up you can shout at MS (for whatever ** good that does you), whereas if Linux messes up you ** have to clean it up yourself. If NT was messed up by a user, you cant shout at Microsoft for providing a hole. They laugh at you at bat you down like the mere peasant that they think you are. They tell you that you'll have to wait for the next service pack or apply a hot-fix which inevitably breaks something else... As for Linux -- people are understanding and take pride in fixing a problem. It's been seen that patches are available within an hour of the problem being reported in most places. You may mess it up, but it's easier to sort out than an NT mess up. Who needs someone to blame, when there is nothing worth blaming on anyone...
