Anyone know how to get Apache's mod_userdir for
to work in 6.4? The default directory for the user's page is ~/public_html/ but all I get is 403 forbidden on access attempts. I assume it's a user/group issue, but I'm not sure. It should work with the default config but doesn't for some reason. I've done this fine 2/3 times on Slackware but I'm stuck here :-P
I presume that you know about .htaccess in ~/public_html Check the permissions on ~ You'll probably need to chmod go+x ~. Before you do, consider the security aspects. Although not everybody may be able to read the directory, they will still know some filenames in there. One approach may be to have your real working home directory in a sub-directory and the "standard" files like .profile very well protected. -- Bernd Felsche - Innovative Reckoning Perth, Western Australia -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
