Wanting to try an FTP install of Suse I picked up the disk image yast2 from IP address 202.58.118.5 in directory /pub/suse/i386/current/discs. Then I wrote that image to a floppy using dd in=yast2 of=/dev/fd0u1440. I booted from that floppy and low and behold it puts me in yast rather than yast2, with no obvious option to select yast2. I would have assumed that since the image I was booting from was named yast2 by the suse crew that it might be yast2 and not yast! After booting I needed to provide the system with ip addresses to use my nic and with the ftp address where the ftp install would proceed from. I used IP address 202.58.118.5 and directory /pub/suse/i386/current. Any ideas why the install is using YaST Version 1.05.2 rather than YaST2?
