I Have messages appear in /var/log/messages/ suse-MARK-
Whats thse meaning of these messages.
When nothing has been logged for 20 minutes, the system writes a 'MARK' message to show that everything is still running. This is basically to deal with when a server dies - the administrator can look in the messages file and get a rough idea when the crash took place, by looking at when the mark messages stopped. For more info do a 'man syslogd'. Hope that helps, Chris -- Unfortunately I'm back on V90 (yeah, right) dialup for the rest of my life, so I apologise in advance for any time delay in replies.
