How can I get back to normal? This is being written by booting from the CD-ROM. At least everything is accessible after installing a SuSE kernel, Just want to get back to my old configuration in /boot/old and try again!
Is /boot/boot.b actually there? If you are booting from the CD, the directory may not actually be called /boot, it may be called /mnt/boot or something similar (I really have no idea though, because I very infrequently have to resort to booting from the CD...). The 'LI' prompt usually means that either the hard disk geometry is incorrect or... wait for it - you've moved /boot/boot.b. So when you run 'lilo', is /boot actually mounted under /boot?
