Hi Syeh, A RAMDAC is necessary for your monitor. Because your computer a digital machine, and your monitor an analogue, the videosignal has to to be converted. The component on your videocard wich converts the videodata is called the RAMDAC. The faster the RAMDAC, the faster the signal wil be converted.
