Just for information. I had this help from Dr. Werner Fink werber@suse.de Change /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/LogOn and /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/LogOff to your appropriate needs. The line you've to change is that with exec sessreg ... e.g. LOCATION=${DISPLAY%:*} LINE=:${DISPLAY#*:} if test -z "$LOCATION" ; then # local connection case "$LINE" in :0|:0.0) LOCATION=console ;; *) LOCATION=localhost ;; esac else # TCP/IP connection (remote or local) LINE=${LOCATION%%.*}${LINE} fi [...] exec sessreg -l $LINE -h $LOCATION -a $USER --------------------------- Kevin Jackson wrote:
The only thing I can see is...
If you are using XDM - and both users try and get display :0 then the program must be reporting the last user of that display - if no terminals are open (XTerm, etc).
And/Or,
Try opening up a terminal as both users and then do a who command.
I hope this gives you some clues as to what is going on!
