Default Samba uses plain passwords, Windows uses encripted ones. You have to either use encripted passwords in Samba or change a registry key in Windows98. Look for /usr/doc/packages/samba foor details. There are registry entries for all kind of Win systems in there. hope this helps, Jeroen -----Original Message----- From: suse-linux-e-return-26822-jeroen=jota.nl@suse.com [mailto:suse-linux-e-return-26822-jeroen=jota.nl@suse.com]On Behalf Of Pierpaolo Da Fieno Sent: Sunday, May 21, 2000 8:48 PM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] Samba configuration My linux box (Suse 6.3) is on LAN with WIN98 machines and I tried to set SAMBA up to share resources. I couldn't manage to make my computer be seen by the others. I had a look at SMB Howto but I didn't find anything useful. Can someone tell me some good online resource to get complete configuration instruction.
