I have normal sound for waves and realaudio, etc; but I don't seem to be able to get the midi to play. I've recompiled the kernel with the awe32 patch, etc.
You'll have to load a sound font before you can use midi. Get awesfx-0.4.3a.tgz and synthgm.sbk.gz (use ftpsearch.lycos.com to find these), install them and add something like alias char-major-14 sb alias midi awe_wave post-install awe_wave /usr/local/bin/sfxload /usr/local/awe_soundfont/synthgm.sbk options sb io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1 dma16=5 mpu_io=0x330 to /etc/modules.conf
Would someone who has it working be kind enough to email me a copy of their modules.conf and isapnp.conf?
My isapnp.conf (it's for a SB AWE64, but that shouldn't matter): -------------------------------------------------------> (READPORT 0x020b) (ISOLATE PRESERVE) (IDENTIFY *) (VERBOSITY 2) (CONFLICT (IO FATAL)(IRQ FATAL)(DMA FATAL)(MEM FATAL)) (CONFIGURE CTL009e/327735526 (LD 0 (INT 0 (IRQ 5 (MODE +E))) (DMA 0 (CHANNEL 1)) (DMA 1 (CHANNEL 5)) (IO 0 (SIZE 16) (BASE 0x0220)) (IO 1 (SIZE 2) (BASE 0x0330)) (IO 2 (SIZE 4) (BASE 0x0388)) (NAME "CTL009e/327735526[0]{Audio}") (ACT Y) )) (CONFIGURE CTL009e/327735526 (LD 1 (IO 0 (SIZE 8) (BASE 0x0200)) (NAME "CTL009e/327735526[1]{Game}") (ACT Y) )) (CONFIGURE CTL009e/327735526 (LD 2 (IO 0 (BASE 0x0620)) (IO 1 (BASE 0x0A20)) (IO 2 (BASE 0x0E20)) (NAME "CTL009e/327735526[2]{WaveTable}") (ACT Y) )) (WAITFORKEY) <------------------------------------------------------- Ciao, Stefan -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
