I'm using an internal 3COM/USR V.Everything 56K modem and it worked flawlessly with Linux. I have enough junk on the outside of my PC, and I didn't want to add a modem to that list. The V.Everything modem is pricey but well worth it. Check out www.pricewatch.com for the best prices. Just my $.02, Matt

Just about all of the suggestions have been for external modems....is there a reason for the preference, or could I look for an internal version of these brands?
Thanks to all, Lynda
