I don't know if it is a silly answer, but have you rebuild the binary virtusertable with: makemap dbm /etc/mail/virtusertable.db < /etc/mail/virtusertable or webmin does it for yourself??? And a question for you, becouse some people (including myself) has asked for help about virtual domains and we didn't have answer. How did you managed to map the domains?? something like: @domain1 %1_domain1 @domain2 %1_domain2 Ok, if you did so, you need to create one user for each user and each domain. It is really needed to create users in the system?? And then, how do you distributed the e-mail? Do you use pop3 or imap? How do you managed to distributed one user that is using netscape whose name is user1@domain2 to get his mail?? Carlos Steve Duys wrote:
Greetings All.. need some assistance with suse 6.3/webmin/virtuser module...
I'm having problems setting up virtuser maps. They don't appear to be working. These maps all relate to domains which have been registered, pointed, and are now live on our server.
Symptoms: 1. if I send an email to a fake virtuser alias, one that doesn't exist.. I don't get any error msgs back, either via email, or in root mail. I don't know where the test is going.
2. one address in particular that hasn't been working right, is for one of our clients that receives orders via email. (no cc numbers involved thankfully, and everything is logged) Our client called up to complain that they weren't receiving orders. I went into the virtuser map module in webmin, and re-mapped to the address to point to my home address for testing. After making the change.. the client, to my surprise, received the email, instead of myself. Somehow, the change was ignored, and the test made it to the recipient originally specified in the virtuser map module.
3. After creating new maps to test.. always making sure that the new map was for a domain actually on our system.. and then mapping it to myself or to a co-workers real address.. no email would be received.
I haven't been receiving error msgs. I've tried stopping and restarting sendmail.
Domains referenced in the virtuser aliases are also specified in the "local domains" table as required.. and the "Relay Domains' table as well.. both through webmin. I've rechecked the raw file for the virtusertable in /etc and it matches.
I'm at a loss. and need assistance.. Thanks.
