Lynda, :I want to swap it out with a decent fax modem that will work with Linux as well as :Windows. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type or brand to buy? I (and some friends) have had some very positive experiences with the "Jaton Modulator 56" and the "Jaton Communicator 56". They both seem to work in about anything; although my personnel experience with them doesn't go beyond Linux and Windows. I would also suggest looking through the this site: http://www.math.sunysb.edu/~comech/tools/CheapBox.html It has some excellent options and I have yet to be disappointed with one of their recommendations.
