HI all,
I was given three Pentium MoBs the other day. <G> Two are great... but the third I'm having a small problem. It does not have a CPU. The markings say that I can put a 50, 66, or 75 mhz CPU on it. But I have only a 133 mhz CPU. My question is can I run this CPU on this MoB? Also if so, which setting should I use, ie 50, 66, or 75?
As there was never a Pentium 50Mhz (as far as I know), I expect that the markings are for the bus speed. You should find a set of jumpers, or a dip switch which will let you select the multiplier. For a 133Mhz, you need to select 66Mhz bus and a multiplier of x2. This actually gives 132Mhz! There were discussions on the list a few weeks ago about finding a bios for old mobos, maybe the same links will turn up a manual?! Hope that's of use RikD -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
