That's simple, i can't use deadkeys in XFree86 4.0 and have not found docs about this particular topic :/ This is my XF86Config keyboard section: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard0" Driver "keyboard" Option "Protocol" "Standard" Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "es" EndSection All those options has been adapted from the old XF86Config file (server 3.3.x) because i've not found documentation on keyboard options for the new 4.0. The fact is that these options seems to be working so the keys are working "right", i mean that each key put its own corresponding character, even the ñ (if you can see that character, is an 'n' with a '~' floating over) that only exists in spanish keyboards, but deadkeys doesn't wait for the press of another to compose a char. I've used deadkeys correctly in 3.3.x series without troubles so i think there should be a manner to do this again with the new 4.0.
