dropped my dual boot laptop, DOH! was booted into linux at the time (SuSE 6.1) and naturally that partion took the major damage, after running fsck several times it still wouldn't boot up all the way, it would get lost trying to start some of the services........ is there a linux/unix utility that will mark bad clusters/blocks, maybe before or during the format of the partion - so that yast won't try to install programs on them? can such a program be run from a rescue floppy?
