Hello all: I recently posted a query here re: my PS/2 mouse running on SuSE 5.3 but unable to get it operational on 6.1, 6.2 and now 6.4. I have recompiled the kernels, to include both the PS/2 mouse and thew 82710 driver just in case, I still get the same error message when running 'make dep clean zImage' and seeing the error messages, in screen alt+f10 : ReRun/user/sbin/gpm[126] /dev/mouse: Operation not supported by device This is confermed at boot time also, pretty much the same message. Also, when I 'try' to startx, it won't, it displays pretty much the same mesasage after it returns to the CLI screen. I have run YaST1 and YaST2 in 6.4 as well as SAX, XF86Config, each time selecting the PS/2 mouse and trying the 82710 chip driver, I never have seen the mouse operational in this setup screen. I've read in some linux doc's where the PS/2 mouse uses irq 12 but don't know it's i/o address. Is there a way to enter any of this data to the OS during bootup or at some other place? What am I missing here, 5.3 was able to find this mouse, as well as, forgive me, WIN98, but not the 6.x versions? I appreciate any info. to get this baby runnin, Don Don Werts N7NKJ TCP/IP Amateur Packet Radio dwerts@pineknot.com SuSE Linux powered -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
