I've had no problems setting up IRCD. What can't you do? All settings are in /usr/lib/ircd/ircd.conf and have a look at the files in there. You then connect to it on port 6667 (the default - which you can change) You then connect to it like any other IRC server on the internet by pointing your IRC client to the name of the server the ircd daemon is on. And if you want it to always start when you run Linux - edit rc.config and find the line START_IRCD=no and change to yes. Then run SuSEconfig.
