I find reading Slasdhdot comments at +2 more interesting, of course then I miss my own occasional post. -- Ed Craig epcraig@efn.org Taxi Linux FreeBSD Think this through with me, let me know your mind... Hunter/Garcia On Fri, 21 Apr 2000, Jerry and June Kreps wrote:

We need a couple of registered slashdot, educated Suse, users to go to the slashdot 6.4 ISO discussion and kick some butt. Post some comments about how excellent SuSE is against all these Red Hat weenies. :-)
Besides, there are a bunch of uneducated people on there who do not know what is included in the .iso.
Slashdot is rapidly losing my respect as a Linux discussion site. The news stories are ok, but forget trying to post or respond to them. The testosterone loaded Walter Mitties have overrun the place with stupid "first post" messages, "Natile Portman" crap, and virtual fist fights. Almost all discussions end with one or both sides calling the other side a Nazi or a Communist OR the messages become so loaded with vulgarity it not worth wading through the piles of trash just to find the occasional thoughtful comment. They could cure the situation immediately if they required valid email addresses and no pseudonames. Besides, anyone who is not brave enough to put their real name below their opinion is not worth reading. Jerry
