Hi, Documentation woes:- ** I installed the firewall package from the 6.3CD ** over teh weekend. I'm not sure if it works. HTTP ** works fine, however this is going through the squid ** xy which has been performing flawlessly. I cannot however ** go outside on teh net, via, ping, tracerout, ftp or anything else. ** I have my local network as a trusted network and my machine has access ** to everything. when I ping say www.linux.org it resolves the domain name ** (i am guessing through squid not sure.) but it says address unreachable. ** the address range for my local net is 192.168.0.0 and my Inet address is ** assigned dynamically by my IP. I'm also using a dial up. any ideas ?? I have had exactly the same problems and find it's more due to bad documentation in the firewall config scripts! Personally I think there should be a proper FAQ and some help and sample configurations for this like the IPfw package with OpenBSD.
