Hello, Paul. I have had great success with Fujitsu drives in the past. They used to come with more cache, longer warranties and lower prices than most of the other big boys in this field. I also like IBM drives, and I seem to think that recent years have seen Seagate and Quantum both go through rocky times in terms of reliability, but they seem to have their act together nowadays. My oldest Fujitsu drive (1GB FastSCSI-2) was bought back in 1993, and was only decommissioned last year when it was just too small to still be of any use. It was moved between various machines, all of which travelled extensively for demonstration purposes, and it never gave any hint of problems. No doubt this will spark off another one of the list's religious debates, but you wanted to know if Fujitsu drives are OK because that is what is available. In short, you should find them as good as anything else. Hope that helps, Stuart.
I need to add a hard drive to a machine, and a local computer store has a good price on some Fujitsu hard drives.
I'm kind of a brand conscious consumer though, and wonder what kind of reputation this brand has for reliability.
Another store has a good price on some Seagate drives; a little bit more expensive, but not by much.
Which has the better reputation?
