Had a feeling it had something similar to this (had an incling that it was similar to MS FindFast). But, my system is optimised for my AMD 400Mhz and has 128Mb ram that is all recognised. Though, I admit - that hard drive that my Linux sits is a bit on the old side (4-5Years or so). A machine I work in here in work is a hell of a lot slower ON PAPER - but runs much nicer than my machine at home. I'll sort it out. Cheers from you and Derek for the info. last night I left my computer running and I came back to find my disk trashing. It took about 20 seconds to load up Task Manager and see what process was taking up so much of my resources.
It was find!
What was it finding - I don't know! But I know it didn't find it! Why did it suddenly run? I didn't find any Cron jobs for it... or any reference to it any where. And I didn't start it.
It isn't the first time this has happened... but when it does it slows my machine to a crawl.
