Folks, I am trying to get DB2U 6.1 running on my SuSE 6.3 machine and keep running into problems. I have downloaded the correct JRE and installed that into /usr/lib/java. How can I test to make sure that java is installed correctly? I have done NOTHING to set class paths or anthing like that. Below is the posting I put in the news groups about this problem. Sam ----------------------NEWSGROUP POSTING---------------------- OK, I have the database install on SuSE 6.3 Linux, I created the sample DB and ran the sample select, all appears well. When I ran db2cc and db2cctr, I got this error: [IBM][JDBC Driver] CLI0616E Error opening sockect. SQLSTATE=08S01 Well, the first thing I did was search deja.news to see if anyone else had the same problem. I discovered a few, they where told to execute the following: # db2jstrt 6790 # db2cc 6790 and # db2cctr 6790 This I have done, logged in as root, and I get the same error. When I tried to run db2cc as any other user I get 'Permission denied'. How do I fix this problem? I am starting to think it might be an issue of jre not being installed correctly. Not knowing Java, how can I test to see if all it's componenets are installed correctly? -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
