Hi, I bought a new Dell D1028LR monitor because I was encountering bad flickering with my old Dell monitor but I just put that down to old age. Anyway, this one does the same but with added discolouring on the left side, particularly with just a white background (fades almost into purple) so I effectively have a dark band down the left side of my monitor. The spec for the monitor boasts 30-69Khz, 50-120Hz, which I set up in SAX and with a configuration of 1024 x 768 I get 68Khz and 86Hz. In the Dell spec it gives me some factory settings for VGA, SVGA and EVGA. For the EVGA 1024x768 it specs 68.7 Khz and 85Hz. Mine is close enough isn't it? Only 1Hz over that sepcified!! The Dell spec doesn't give me any settings under SVGA for 1024x768. Here's the line from XF86Config for 1024x768 Modeline "1024 x 768" 91.63 1024 1040 1216 1328 768 768 778 802 Is 91.63 too high? Shouldn't it be 86? What is EVGA and does my selection of SVGA have a bearing on this when I set it up in SAX? My graphics card is 3Dfx Voodoo3 2000. Linux version 6.2 What's going wrong? Why am I encountering these problems with both monitors? I'm really at a loss and would appreciate some urgent help with this. Thanks in advance -Ants. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
