You don't mount it, it is not a filesystem/block device. It is a
streaming/character device. You can use tar, dump, or other tape
programs. I have the Seagate 20GB IDE drive and it is /dev/ht0 or
/dev/nht0 for the non-rewind on close device. I don't know "Tape
Backup Tool", so I can't be more specific. Look for configuration or
setup and a probable default value of /dev/mt0 or /dev/rmt0 with
perhaps a different numerical digit.

I'm trying to set up a backup device on my Linux box. Its a HP COLORADO 8GB IDE device. connected as slave on the second channel: hdd
Booting Linux, it is listed (when view the boot.msg).
What I want to know is how do I mount it? I'm using the Tape Backup Tool as listed under Utilities.
