I am doing that exact hack and it works for me. Make sure it is really the library and not a link. Do an 'nm libjpeg.so.62' and see if you get symbols. You files and symlinks should look like this: 17 Apr 5 20:01 /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62 -> libjpeg.so.62.0.0 142857 Apr 5 20:00 /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62.0.0 Fred A. Miller writes:
Ok....I dropped in the lib. Nick sent me....*.62 from RH. Net-6 sees it, and comes up, then promptly freezes and consumes 100% of one of the two P-5 processors. I guess that lib. is not quite right for SuSE 6.3.
