Using Avi's fake rpm and run-parts programs I was able to get the corel wpo2000 graphical install program running, and running, and running..... for almost two hours my HD light flickered and the head clicked. Then, my KDE objects started disappearing off my screen. Finally, only the xterm and the Corel window was showing. Then the x-server died and dropped me to the command line. Upon checking I found that for all that activity the only thing that was done was the creation of the corel directory and the installation of a very short setup_log file. It killed my smtp connection, though, so I am sending through sendmail.
When you started this thread, I installed a WPO2000 beta I had lying around on my Red Hat 6.1 system (I have very little personal use for these apps, so I hadn't tried it before). It took only about ten minutes from the time I popped the CD in the drive to get a full install. The apps look lovely -- like real X apps. I think those who don't like the way StarOffice takes over the desktop, will like WPO2000 much better. I haven't tried to install WPO2000 on my SuSE 6.1 -- I've been letting you and Corel pioneer the installation. :) Dwight -- Dwight Johnson dwj@aaronsrod.com -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
