I've been playing around with SB PCI128 on a user's machine - great sounding card for little dosh. How's support under Linux - do I need Alsa or is there a suitable kernel driver?
There is a kernel driver for it, either es1370 or es1371. But I'd really
recommend ALSA. Setting up a PCI card like this is a breeze and in 6.4,
it'll be done automatically on setup.
ALSA is by far the better sound architecture and the only one supported by
YaST2 (6.4 that is).
