Kind of defeats the object of a text based browser, doesn't it? And anyone writing a gui for it - can be re written to say anyone want to write a browser that doesn't display images. :o) teganos - I really do agree that what is needed is a solid, all round good performer web browser. I actually write web pages for IE - what I can pull out of IE I can't in Netscape. This does emphasise the split between the two. What I write for IE I like, it looks good and performs well. I would like to be able to get away from using a JavaScript to determine what page gets displayed under what browser. IE may crash but I like browsing the web with it... and that is coming from someone who loves Linux Surely someone is working on a similar browser with code that works!?!?!?!? I've never liked Netscape - I only use it in Linux to view my Network status using NetsSaint! I daren't try to code anything using layers on it. Ok, I have had it with netscape. Any other browsers out there that work better under SuSE? Thanks!!
This question gets brought up and regurgitated repeatedly. Unfortunately, Netscape still seems to be the only Linux browser which, even if imperfectly, supports many of the features that many web sites demand. If you can put up with missing features, try Kfm -- seems to be fast, does frames and graphics well, but does not do Java at all and seems to have no plug-in support (I might be wrong --) And I love the Kfm drag 'n' drop feature for downloading, uploading files --
