Can anyone recommend a Database supporting basic SQL for use on Linux ?
That depends on what you need. MySQL and PostgreSQL are both available in GPL versions, with MySQL being faster and PostgreSQL being the most featureful. It should be noted that the reason MySQL is so fast is because it doesn't support all of the stuff (i.e. foreign keys) that Postgres does ;). If push came to shove, you could even get Oracle 8i for Linux... -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 x121 -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
