Can anyone recommend a Database supporting basic SQL for use on Linux ?
Presently I'm using MS Access on Windows NT in one of my applications, but I want to move everything over to Linux but the database is my last hurdle.
Thanx for any help

PostgreSQL- very good: transaction tracking, objects, inheritance, free. Even has a tcl app that mimicks Access in many ways called pgaccess. MySQL - light footprint, NO transaction tracking, limited indexing, no foreign keys, free. InterBase, from Borland, commerical SQL engine which has all the goodies. You can download a fully functional version which has an expiration date on it.
