Not to be rude or anything, but regardless if you AGREE with it or not is irrelevant. I notice that about 30% of the questions on this list are about ppp and if there were not variables in everybody's systems then we would be using ROM based terminals and all would be good. ppp is a problem for people..I use to work at an ISP and we had all kinds of calls about getting connected using everything from Win 3.X to Linux.
Well, then it's a problem for everyone, right? I thought the comment was that there's nothing in Linux that is as easy as Windows DUN? And I maintain that if they want to get online they just need to use kppp. The same types of problems will apply to people using kppp as they do to people using Win DUN.
People have problems with it if they have never done it, and it's not always a piece of cake. I am so glad I have DSL now so I don't have to use ppp under any Unix .. DSL setup by comparision was smooth as a babies butt.
Not if you have to use PPPoE. :-(
