Has anyone got a HP CDR/CDRW burner in the new 8200-series working?
I bought a CD-Writer Plus 8250i the other day, and I have a problem with xcdroast. It seems my SCSI settings in the kernel are wrong. I use SuSE 6.2 with a recompiled 2.2.10 kernel which works perfectly with the drive just working as a normal CD-ROM drive. I have gone through the CD-writing HOW_TO by Winfried Trumper, and tried recompiling my kernel again with the settings recommended in this document, but it doesnŽt work. When I go to the setup in xcdroast, I am not able to choose a writing or reading drive. The menu is empty.
What could I be doing wrong?
Try "modprobe ide-scsi" followed by "lsmod" and see if the module is loading. -- Bob F EMail FBob@wt.net A Truly Wise Man Never Plays Leapfrog With A Unicorn... -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
