Hi
Under X system, you can use "xkeycaps" to build a keyboard of your own.
That lets you map some keys with symbols you'd like to use, or configure
your keyboard the way you'd like it to be... Any xkeycaps session asks
you to choose the type of keyboard you have, and then lets you choose the
symbols and associate them to specific keys... This is an easy GUI tool.
By saving your xkeycaps session, this allows you to create a
~/.xmodmap-kind file, which is the configuration of your keyboard under X.
I suggest you to save your work under something else than ~/.xmodmap
(.xmodmap.test or .xmodmap.italian ) You can load this specific
configuration with the xmodmap command (xmodmap /path/config-file) to try
it, or simply load it for each session by including it in your ~/.*rc
file.
More informations can be found in the man pages for xmodmap and xkeycaps.
If you don't have xkeycaps on your system, there's a package on the CD's
or on SuSE's FTP.
Good luck!
