Yeah, a serial cable modem would be kind of defeating the purpose of cable, wouldn't it?
Also, I can't see any reason to be using wvdial with a cable modem unless you're using PPPOE and even then I wouldn't think wvdial would be necessary. Exactly what kind of modem is it?
