I got an LS-120 super floppy drive yesterday which runs from the IDE port. My system has been entirely SCSI based to date, but insmoding the ide-mod and ide-floppy modules allowed me to access the drive as a regular floppy without problem.
Then I rebooted, and when it came back up I had to load the modules again. Without them it says that /dev/hdb (where the drive lives) is not a recognised device. How can I get modules like this to load automatically at boot time, or at the time when they are required (i.e. at mount time)?
It's either fiddling in /etc/conf.modules or modules.conf (depending on your SuSE Version), or the simple way is to add a "modprobe modul" in /sbin/init.d/boot.local that will force load the module at bootup.
