Just a question in regards to your reply, Can you tell me what problems or error message you get sending to this list? I use pine--sendmail--fethcmail with suse 6.1 with no problems, but I did have to change one thing before it worked right on this list (The domain name within pine). This may be your issuse. Let me know and I'll try to help, Robert On Mon, 20 Mar 2000, Damian Slavek wrote:
I would like to know if anyone can tell me what would be better for my situation. I am considering using either Smail or Qmail.
At present I am using sendmail set up through Yast but that's not working well. I try to use pine to send mail and they leave my local machine but never seem to make it to the list. Although it works for sending to other addresses.
I have a dial up connection through a local ISP. Security at my machine is not really an issue. I will really only have about two users for awhile, until I get my kids using linux.
I would like something that is easy to set up and administer. Any recommendations or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Another question, will I still have to use something like fetchmail if I am using Qmail or Smail? I would like an MTA that will both send and receive.
Thank you for your time.
