Hi and TIA,
There is no need for the win boxes at work to see into my suse machine. However I need to access the printers on the win machines and maybe their file systems. Can I mount a remote fs and or printer and then write to it or print to it as a direct thing or do i need samba etc etc?
Yes and no. You will need the tools to mount the external windows resources (smbmount and smbprint) but I don't think you'll need to run the server utils, smbd and nmbd (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken :-)). Tim
