Hi there, I'm new to the list and I have installed SuSE 6.3 and it had some problems in KDE using some keyboard characters so I used YaST and accidently pressed wrong one and now I can't login, Do I have to reinstall?
Addendum: ALSO I did the below techniche and the ALT-F2 works fine as far as mounting both boot and other partitions BUT now I don't have 'vi' to edit /etc/XF86Config. Any body have a quick answer?
Thanks,
Dave
boot with installation floppy, 'start installation' , (or other bootable floppy, like your rescue floppy), then alt-F2 to get a prompt, mount the hard disk, edit the config file in /etc, I forget the name, XF86.config or something, for the right keyboard. reboot. loosely.
or maybe you can boot single user and still use the keyboard, since X isn't loaded yet.
